How to install FileZilla on Ubuntu 22.04 or 20.04 latest version

Install FileZilla with APT command
Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open a terminal and run the following commands in turn:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade sudo apt install filezilla
If running the install command shows a repository error, please retype the following commands in turn
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xtradeb/apps sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade sudo apt install filezilla
Other PPA, if any PPA fails try another PPA
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sicklylife/filezilla
After installing FileZilla on Ubuntu 22.04 | 20.04, FileZilla FTP Client can be opened from Ubuntu Dash or Terminal. To open with command, on the terminal run command Filezilla
Or type Filezilla in from the search menu and click Add to Favorites to add it to the menu taskbar.
How to Uninstall FileZilla & Remove PPA
To remove the Ubuntu PPA, specifically, Filezilla, copy the command below into the terminal and enter. For example with the above, we have added repository
ppa:xtradeb/apps, so the delete command will be.
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:xtradeb/apps sudo apt remove --auto-remove filezilla
How to use Filezilla to connect to Server / Hosting
You can also use a combination of Filezilla with sublime text 3 to easily edit files.
To edit the file downloaded with filezilla, open Filezilla and select -> Edit -> Settings -> File editing.
In the default editor section, select User custom editor. If you install sublime text 3, click Browser to find the path to the sublime text file. (/opt/sublime_text/sublime_text). And click OK
To connect Filezilla to your hosting or VPS, click the first icon (under the word File). Then do as shown below, of course hosting information, VPS or connection type FPT, SFPT, host, port, key file you need to set up correctly.
