2 Step to Install VLC Media Player on Ubuntu 22.04/20.04

Step 1: Open terminal and update system
First, open terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and update the system. This helps ensure that we have the latest versions of the software packages and information needed to install VLC Media Player .
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
Step 2: Install VLC Media Player on Ubuntu
After updating the system, we will proceed to install VLC Media Player on Ubuntu 22.04 or 20.04 with the following command:
sudo apt install vlc -y
When prompted, enter the password to confirm the installation of Video software on Ubuntu 22.04 or 20.04. The system will download and install VLC Media Player along with its dependencies. This process may take a few minutes depending on your internet speed. Once the installation is complete, you have successfully installed VLC Media Player software on your Ubuntu.
To configure all videos to be opened with “VLC Media Player”, right click on the video file and select “Properties”, click on the “Open With” tab and select “VLC Media Player” -> Set as default. Now you can watch any video with clear picture and high quality sound on your Ubuntu operating system.
