TrollStore: Install IPA Files Permanently on iOS

TrollStore comes in various versions, supporting different iOS versions and chips. It provides a clever method for iOS 14.0 to 17.0 users to install IPA files permanently without jailbreaking.

TrollStore: Supported Devices and iOS Versions

Since this utility exploits vulnerabilities in iOS/iPadOS, not all versions or devices can use it. Currently, the author only supports iOS 14.0 – 17.0. Please refer to the table below to determine which version of TrollStore your device can install.

Installing TrollStore via TrollHelperOTA

Select one of the following links based on your iOS/iPadOS version. Use Safari on your iPhone/iPad to open the link:

• TrollHelperOTA Link 1 – For devices with A11 chip or older running iOS 15.0-15.6 beta, and A12 or newer running iOS 15
• TrollHelperOTA Link 2 – For arm64e devices (A12 – A16) running iOS 14-15

Note: This app isn’t actually GTA Car Tracker, but instead is a disguised TrollStore Helper.

1. After opening the link, tap “Install” to begin the app installation.
2. When prompted to “Open this page in iTunes”, tap Open.
3. When prompted to install TrollHelper (arm64e), tap Install.
4. Return to the home screen and open the app named GTA Car Tracker.
5. Tap Install TrollStore. (Note: Your device will restart when this process is complete).
6. Open TrollStore from the home screen.
7. Tap Install Persistence Helper.
8. Choose an app you never use, such as Tips. (Note: The app you choose will no longer function after you select it).
9. Delete the GTA Car Tracker app from the home screen.

How to install TrollStore on iOS 14.0-16.6.1 using TrollInstallerX

TrollInstallerX supports all iOS/iPadOS devices on firmware versions 14.0 to 15.1.1, A9(X) and newer devices on firmware versions 15.2 to 16.6.1, and A10(X) devices on versions 17.0 beta 1 to 17.0 beta 4.

If you’re using iOS 16.0 or later and not using jailbreaks.app to install TrollInstallerX, you’ll also need to enable Developer Mode.

Requirements

• The latest version of Sideloadly.
• The latest version of iTunes if on Windows
• The latest version of TrollInstallerX.

Installing the application

1. Open Sideloadly.
2. Plug your iOS device into your computer, make sure your computer is trusted and allowed to view the contents of your device.
3. Drag and drop the TrollInstallerX .ipa file into Sideloadly.
4. Enter in your Apple ID.
5. Enter in your password, Sideloadly must make a request to it’s servers in order to work with free developer accounts. If you are not OK with this, you may use an alternate Apple ID.
6. Click the “Start” or “Install” button in Sideloadly. Wait for the installation process to complete. This may take a few minutes.

Once finished, you’ll see the TrollInstallerX app icon on your iOS device’s home screen.

Trusting the application

1. Go to Settings -> General -> Device Management -> <Your Apple ID>.
2. Tap Trust “<Your Apple ID>”.

Running TrollInstallerX

1. Open TrollInstallerX
2. Tap Install TrollStore. (If your device is stuck on “Exploiting Kernel”, reboot your device)
3. When prompted to select an app to install the persistence helper into, select an app you care about the least
   • If you don’t know what app to select, select Tips
   • If your device reboots before getting to this step, try again

The persistence helper, and in most cases, TrollStore itself, should now be installed.

Note:

• On iOS 16.5.1 for A15, A16, and M2 devices, as well as iOS 16.6 to 16.6.1 for A12 and later devices, you’ll need to install TrollStore through the installed persistence helper after using TrollInstallerX.
• If the persistence helper is not installed into the app you selected, shut down your device normally, turn it back on, open the app you want as your persistence helper, then close the app (from the app switcher) and run TrollInstallerX again.
• Open the app you selected as your persistence helper from your home screen
• Press Install TrollStore

TrollStore will now be installed on your device.
